Nora is on her way to tour a Europe for the summer before going off to a summer art school in Ireland. Just when Nora thinks she can spread her wings a little her mother announces that she is tagging along.
This was another book that I feel that the synopsis lied to me.
I came into this book thinking it was going to be about a mother daughter butting heads and trying to resolve their issues. I was also expecting a big focus on art.
Now there was a lot art talk, I will give you that. There was discussion of different art styles, becoming a working artist, and growing as an artist. I really did like that aspect of the book.
Other than that, I absolutely hated this book. I did not like our main character. I thought she was very whiny, self-centered. She was constantly comparing herself to other artist and writing those artist off because they had more opportunity that has had. I really hated that.
Overall, I didn't feel like this story went anywhere. I was just left so underwhelmed.
I gave this book a D.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
