Furthermore is about an 11-year old named Alice. Although she lives in a colorful world, Alice herself has no color of her own. This has always been a source of insecurity for her, the only person who made her feel special was her father. Now she teams up with a boy to try to find her father.
This book was so popular when it first came out and I could understand why.
This was a beautiful written, filled with vivid imagery. It had a new fantastic world filled with monstrous beauty and ugly truths. I however, could not get into this book.
I could not lose myself in Alice’s story and I couldn’t find myself sympathizing with her. I didn’t find myself engaging with either her or the male character. I felt myself loving the world more than the actual characters.
I do still want to read the companion book. I want to see how the author expands this world.
I gave this book a B.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
