This is the backstory to Godfather Drosselmeier how he became the exceptional toymaker and how he was able to infuse magic into a much beloved nutcracker.
Yup it is official. I think I have outgrown this author.
While I loved the Wicked Series, I have not loved Maguire’s other works.
I wanted to love this book. I thought this would have been a whimiscal book filled with magical realism but there wasn’t a lot of fantastical elements. There were so little moments of whimsy that for the most part this book read like a historical fiction.
There were so moments of almost dreamlike magic but it felt so little compared to the source material that inspired this story.
I gave this book a C.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
