Yesterday, I was so lucky to go to Leigh Bardugo's Midnight Tales Tour where she was signing The Language of Thorns. And I want to give a huge shout out and so much love to Inkwood Books in Tampa for being able to host this wonderful event. This was the first time they hosted a young adult author and I hope they are able to have more events in the future.
But back to the event, we showed up about an hour before the event and there were already 30 people ahead of us in line. By the time they Inkwood opened their doors the line was starting to wrap around the buildings.
Once we were in the building I was able to purchase a copy of the new book as well as Shadow and Bone. My friend Maria purchased the Six of Crows duology as well her copy of the Language of Thorns.
Once we were graced with the author's presence the night really kicked off. Ann-Eliza & Carmen from YA Wednesdays were the moderators. Our gothy dark queen talked about her writing process, what influenced some of her grisha tales and some new projects.
It was just a wonderful night and it reminded me how much I love going to these bookish events. I was able to talk lots of people that shared my love of her books and I even spotted a local booktuber or two.
I really hope that this is just the beginning and that more authors head to the Tampa Bay area.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
