This is the second book in the Dark Artifices series. I honestly have no idea how to sum this book up, I highly suggest you read the official synopsis.
This was my most anticipated book of the year and I don't know how to write this review.
I think this is the best book Cassandra Clare has written so far. She really come a long way with her story telling, character development, and world building. She really expanded on what we knew of Fairy lore and she gave us new mythology.
Julian Blackthorn is probably one of her most complex character. He has to become the number one caregiver of his four younger siblings, pretend to be his uncle and run an institute, and hide his feelings for his parabati. Julian walks a very thin tight rope of between doing good and doing everything he can to protect his family. He is a very morally gray character and I can't wait to see what happens in the final book.
There was so much time spent developing every character in this book. We got to know so much more about the Blackthorn kids and Kit. Cassandra Clare dropped hints of what my being going on in future series.
She set into motion an epic battle between that will pit shadowhunter vs shadowhunter, shadowhunter and the fae, and pretty much anyone who stands in Julian Blackthorn's way.
I laughed, I cried, and then I cried for days.
I give this book an A.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
