Louna is spending the summer working for her mother's wedding planning business. The last thing she expected was to be saddled with Ambrose, a carefree and somewhat reckless new employee who is trying to coax her out of her comfort zone.
This is my first Sarah Dessen book and I thought it would be the perfect summer contemporary book.
I really liked the characters. Louna and Ambrose were so different but had such great chemistry together. I liked that Louna was so cynical and skeptical of love and relationships while she works hard at making sure every wedding is a bride's dream come true.
Louna felt so grounded and sure of what she wanted. The complete opposite of Ambrose who was so relaxed and was content to float along. He went out on dates and with lots of different girls, he was enthralled with the idea of falling in love but was hesitant to commit.
My favorite part of this book was when they were interacting together. They bickered and teased one another. Ambrose pushed Louna to get out of her comfort zone and start dating while Louna bets him to give commit a try.
I would give the characters a B+ but I would give the overall story a C+.
There was just something lacking with the actual story. When I closed the book, it didn't leave me satisfied, I wanted more.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
