Naho received a strange letter from her future self. At first she doesn't know what to believe but just like the letter said a new student joined her class. She now has a limited time to save Kakeru.
I grew up reading a lot of manga and I really want to get back into read them. Orange is a two-volume slice of life contemporary manga . . . with a tiny splash of scifi.
I really liked the friendships in this book. Naho has close group of friends that she grew up with and they were so welcoming to Kakeru. They immediately integrated him into the group. Kakeru becomes especially close friends with both Naho and Suwa.
These were just the ultimate friendship goals.
Since this story is told through two separate times. We see the present with 16 year old Naho and Kakeru and we see a version with 26 year old Naho.
It makes for such a gut wrenching story. I highly recommend reading this with a box tissues close by.
I give this a B-
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
