This is the second and concluding volume to the Orange manga series. Naho and her friends are trying to save their new classmate's life.
I am confused.
The first volume was so well spaced out. The friendships grew in such an organic way.
But this volume felt so all over the place. We went from Naho and Kakeru being so close to hardly speaking to one another. The ending felt so rushed and I was so, so disappointed.
While I loved that this manga tackled mental illness, I didn't like how they handled Kakeru's depression. Naho really took it upon herself to be the one to save him. I really don't like that mentality, it is so harmful to both parties. Having a strong support system is necessary but it shouldn't be the only resource available to someone with depression.
I liked the premise but hated the execution.
I give this manga a D.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
