Abortions and in vitro have been outlawed. Only married couples can adopt children. Four very distinct women are affected by these laws.
This book felt so eerie. There was an unsettling feeling that took over when I began reading this book. What truly disturbed me about this book was how easily these laws could be passed.
These four women were so different from one another and she was able to weave their stories together. We had a young teen with an expected pregnancy, a medicine woman who helps those in needs, a young mother of two and a teacher desperately wanting a child.
There were so many different views on marriage and children. This was a well rounded book featuring women that are so much more than just their biology.
I gave this book an A.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
