A strange illness has overtaken the female population. A cocoon like substance has overtake then their entire bodies and as they fall into a deep slumber. If you try to wake them a monstrous version of them awakens instead.
This a big, big book.
This is a book that follows a lot of characters and told through so many point views. For the most part I thought it was done very well.
Because the women of the world are falling asleep and being overtake we get to see how men would react to a world without them. Things turn south pretty fast. There were so many moments of sexism that just left me so uncomfortable.
The authors did try to balance that out by having so many female friendships and positive male influences.
Overall, I did enjoy the book. I like how they tried to keep their world so diverse.
I gave this book a B.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
