OMG THIS BOOK IS ABOUT MECHAS!!!!
I have seen this book pop in a few booktube videos, mostly talking about its beautiful cover, but there weren't too many actual reviews. Which is such a shame because this is such an interesting book!!!
The book is told through case files and interviews. It made the story feel like I was stumbling upon government secrets. It definitely added to the reading experience and I highly recommend getting the audiobook. They had a full cast of narrators which added to listening experience.
Because this book is told in debriefing, their wasn't as much character development. This was a very plot driven story about a team finding pieces of this giant machine and then trying to make it function. The narration added another dimension to the characters. The sarcasm and quips came across more authentic when there are two separate people going back and forth.
I absolutely loved this story. I loved the politics and the science behind finding the mecha. The characters were so flawed and I wanted to learn so much more.
I give this book a B+
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
