This is the conclusion to the Dorothy Must Die series. For real this time. Amy must find a way to restore the magic to Oz, defeat Dorothy and somehow reunite her old enemy Madison with her family again.
Whelp, that was it.
I really liked the first book and then tolerated the other two books. I didn't have high expectations coming into this finale but I was still left underwhelmed.
This story alternates between Amy and Dorothy's POV as they both try to navigate through a new setting and try to get the upper hand on their enemies. This book just felt so forced and out of place
I don't think this should have been a quartet. The author could have completed the series in the last book. This addition to the series felt tacked on. Dorothy was no longer the big bad looming enemy, she was greatly humanized and just came across being selfish yet likeable.
I don't think there was any new development with Amy, I felt like her arc took a backseat to what was going on with Dorothy. There were too many new charactres introduced and not enough fan favorite characters made an appearance.
At the end I am just glad to be done with this series. I give this book a D.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
