Monty is having one last hurrah a tour of Europe before he must take over the family estate and Percy his best friend/secret love goes off to school in Holland. Monty just wants to enjoy their last time together he won't let chaperone or his stuffy sister interfere with that. He just wasn't expecting pirates or a murder plot.
Oh I really really liked this book. The characters were amazing.
I loved that Monty was over the top and dramatic. He had so many wonderful moments. I loved how his sister and Percy weren't afraid to call him out on his bullshit as well. While Monty always meant well, he was blinded by his privilege.
I really liked that this book talked about Monty's privilege. Even though Monty had a tough childhood and he struggles with knowing that his bisexuality is seen as a sin, Monty still has a lot more of an advantage than his sister or Percy.
The book talked about how even Percy was raised in nobility he wouldn't be viewed as nobility because he is mixed race. Monty's sister, Felicity, automatically had her world limited just because she was born a woman.
This book was just filled so many great interactions and wonderful character growth. I absolutely adored it. I can't wait to see Felicity's companion book come out.
I highly, highly recommend following the author on twitter. She is absolutely hilarious.
I give this book an A.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
