Dorian Gray is a young gentleman who was blessed with good looks. After the completion of his portrait and gaining a new friendship, Dorian's reputation has been coming into question.
I have seen and read many variations of this stories. Dorian Gray has become a staple in classic literature and is often associated with other works such as Frankenstein and Dracula.
This is the first time I have read this story to completion. It was interesting to watch Dorian go down a slippery slope. He was easily influenced by a new friendship which made him question his morals.
He applied so much pressure on himself to look the best and act the most charming when in reality he cares very little with the majority of the people he interacts with.
I enjoyed his initial descent into the morally gray and then when guilt started to consume him. But the middle really dragged on which was odd since this is such a short book.
I gave this book a C.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
