Prince Sebastian has been hiding a secret from his family. When he sees a woman wearing a beautiful gown he commissions the creator of the gown to be his personal dressmaker.
I absolutely loved this graphic novel. I loved Sebastian and Frances’ friendship.
This is technically a young adult graphic novel, but I actually find this book shelved within the middle grade section. I loved that we are getting so many diverse book and especially for a younger audience.
This is a very sweet story about friendship, acceptance, and being true to yourself. Now while Sebastian does wear beautiful gowns and goes by a female name, this book doesn’t really specify if Sebastian is trans. So if you are looking at this book for that specific representation, I don’t think this is a right choice.
But this does have a touching friendship and a strong family presence.
I gave this book an A.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
