Bonbon is a black man on trial for owning a slave. This is a hard hitting satire that takes a look at race in the United States.
I don't even know where to begin with this book, omg.
It was hysterical at times and at others it made me uncomfortable. There was a lot of commentary about race and how it effects education and careers.
Even though it was satire the book was filled with too many unlikeable characters for my taste. I found it really hard to connect with any of the characters. I wasn't a huge fan of the main character or any of the side characters.
While entertaining this book didn't leave as much of an impression on me as I thought it would.
I give this book a C.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
