This is the first book in the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. The story revolves around the Bailey twins, Conner and Alex and how Alex accidentally falls into a book of fairy tales.
This is a much believed middlegrade series and since the final book comes out this, I thought it would be a good idea to start marathoning them.
I am so happy I picked this book up. It was so well written. The dialogue was probably one of the strongest, I have seen in a while. I thought Conner was absolutely hilarious, he had so many one liners that had me giggling.
I thought the twins were very fleshed out characters, each twin had very distinct personalities and they complimented one another very well. I loved how bookish Alex is, I could relate to her wanting to escape into a book.
But hands down my favorite part of the book was all the fairy tale characters. I absolutely loved Colfer's take on these famous characters. Queen Red Riding Hood was absolutely my favorite. As the twins continued on their adventure, I was kept hoping to run into more and more characters.
I give this book a B+
I absolutely loved the world and characters that Colfer is bringing to life. I highly recommend it.
I devour worlds with each new book. I am making up for lost time as a late bloomer of the reading world.
